KUWAIT: A team of the Kuwait Voluntary Action Center, led by Sheikha Amthal AlÜAhmad AlÜSabah, has rescued a sea turtle within a record period of time. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Head of the team Hussein AlÜQallaf, said the group had done its utmost to save the green sea turtle that was stranded in the generator cooling tanks at the AlÜShuaiba refinery. "The team managed to rehabilitate the turtle back to its natural habitat taking into consideration the importance of protecting it from extinction," he said. "Sea turtles constitute a significant part of the ecological system, and are sensitive to environmental changes. They are used as an indication of environmental health and stability," he added. AlÜQallaf hailed the efforts as a fresh achievement for the Kuwaiti team, and commended the team that always rescues sea species from looming perils and dangers.Ü
