KUWAIT: Justice Khaled AlÜMuzaini announced early Sunday morning the 10 winners of the 2009 parliamentary elections of the First Constituency with Dr. Masouma AlÜMubarak topping the list of winners. AlÜMubarak, the third woman announced to be elected into parliament, holds a PhD in the Philosophy of International Relations from Denver University, Colorado. She also holds a masters degree in international relations, and another in political sciences. She holds a diploma in planning and a bachelors in political sciences. She is a lecturer at Kuwait University and was a visiting professor at Denver University (1986Ü1988), and the University of Bahrain (1990Ü1991). She became Kuwait''s first female minister when she was appointed Minister of Planning and State Minister for Administrative Development Affairs in 2005. She was appointed Minister of Communications in 2006 and Minister of Health in 2007. Hussein AlÜQallaf was born in 1958 and holds a degree in Law and Islamic Sharia. He was elected to the National Assembly in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2008. Hussein AlÜHuraiti was born in 1962 and holds a degree in law and held a number of positions with the prosecution. He also lectured at Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, Sheikh Saad AlÜAbdullah Academy of Security and Police Sciences, and the Interior Ministry''s Criminal Investigation Department. AlÜHuraiti was elected to the National Assembly in 2006 and 2008, and was appointed Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in 2008. As for Yousef AlÜZalzala, he was born in 1959 and holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Colorado. He held the position of Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Research at Kuwait University and is a member of the Kuwait Human Rights Society and Kuwait Journalists'' Association. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2003 and 2006, and was appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry in 2005. Faisal AlÜDuwaisan, born in 1964, holds a high school diploma. He works at the Kuwait Radio, and headed Kuwait Television''s Channel Three. He was named Deputy Director General of private AlÜWatan TV, as well as being appointed as media advisor in the National United Media Company. Meanwhile, Saleh Ashour was born in 1953 and holds a diploma in communications, a bachelors degree in economy, and a diploma in military sciences. He was formerly a colonel in the air force and an engineer in the Ministry of Communications. He was a National Assembly member in 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2008. As for Abdullah AlÜRoumi, he was born in 1949 and holds a law degree. He was elected a member of the National Assembly in 1985, 1992, 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2008 and is a member of Kuwait Lawyers'' Association. Mikhlid AlÜAzmi was born in 1961 and holds a degree in geography. He was a member of the Municipal Council in 1993 and a member of the National Assembly in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2008. Hassan Johar, born in 1960, holds a PhD in the Philosophy of Political Sciences. He taught at Kuwait University between 1991 and 1996. Jowhar was elected MP in 1996, 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2008. And finally, Adnan Abdulsamad was born in 1950 and holds a bachelors degree in political and economic sciences and a diploma in planning. KUWAIT: Justice Jawad AlÜAbdullah announced Sunday morning the 10 winners of the Second Constituency of the 2009 parliamentary elections. Marzouq AlÜGhanim was born in 1968 and holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. He held a number of positions, including Chairman of Boubyan Petrochemicals. AlÜGhanim was elected to the National Assembly in 2006 and 2008. In second place, Ali AlÜRashid was born in 1976 and holds a degree and a higher diploma in law. He held a number of public positions, and was member of the bureau investigating the crime of the ousted Iraqi regime in 2000. AlÜRashid became a member of the National Assembly in 2003, 2006 and 2008. As for Jassem AlÜKharafi, born in 1940, he holds a diploma in business. He was elected to the National Assembly in 1975, 1981, 1985, and 1995, and was National Assembly Speaker in 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2008. He also held membership on a number of boards and was Director General of the Mohammad AbdulÜMohsen AlÜKharafi Group between 1961 and 1985. KUWAIT: Justice Mohammad Bin Naji announced early Sunday morning the 10 winners in the Third Constituency with Aseel AlÜAwadhi and Rola Dashit being the first female candidates winning seats in Kuwait''s history. Roudhan AlÜRoudhan was born in 1965 and holds a diploma. He was vice president of the Municipal Council between 1999 and 2001, and chairman of the council between 2001 and 2003. AlÜRoudhan was elected into the National Assembly in 2008 and was appointed Health Minister the same year. Dr. Aseel AlÜAwadhi, who came second, holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from Texas University and a bachelors degree with a minor in political sciences from Kuwait University. She was a member of Amnesty International in 1988Ü1991, a volunteer at the Kuwaiti Society for Victims of War in 1991Ü1993. She has been a lecturer at Kuwait University''s Arts College since 2006. Veteran Ahmad AlÜSaadoun was born in 1934 and holds a degree in literature. He was formerly the Assistant Undersecretary for Mail and Telephones, and member of the National Assembly in 1975Ü2008. Mohammad Hayef AlÜMutairi was born in 1964 and holds a bachelors degree in Islamic Studies. He was employed at the Kuwait Municipality, and was elected to the National Assembly in 2008.
